Travel Arrangements & Personal Kit

Communication Date: 12th June 2024

It’s hard to believe that we are now only 45 days from coming together for EIJ. We are at the point now where we have a fair amount of information to start sharing with you in preparation for the event, so please look out for all our emails over the coming weeks. We’ve also added a section to our website so that you can refer back to all these emails in a single place should you need. You can click here to access.

We are now able to share the final details for travel to and from the event, along with a kit list.

Departure

We will be departing from Basingstoke Leisure Park on Saturday 27th July by coach. The coach will be parked in the coach area near the Bingo Hall and you will be able to park in one of the adjacent car parks. Please arrive by 09:15 ready for a 09:30 departure. We aim to arrive on site at the Jamboree for around midday.

Please wear full uniform for travel, including the District scarf that was provided at the intro weekend. If you need a replacement scarf you can obtain these here.

As we will be setting up on arrival, we would ask that you send a packed lunch. Please make sure this is in disposable packaging so that it can be disposed of rather than kept in tents for a week.

Arrival

We aim to arrive back at Basingstoke Leisure Park on Saturday 3rd August at around 15:30. We will text you an accurate arrival time on the afternoon, once we have departed the jamboree.

Facebook Group

We’ve created a private Facebook group where we will share updates before and during the event. It’s a great way to see what the young people are up to on the jamboree. If you are not on Facebook, please don’t worry all important information will be shared via email too. You can join the group at facebook.com/groups/beeij

The following personal equipment will be required:

  • Sleeping Bag

Event Clothing

Those that have ordered event clothing through us, we are awaiting delivery and will get this out to you as soon as possible. If you are still interested in ordering event clothing then the deadline to order is 23rd June so you’ll need to get in quick by clicking here. If you are ordering sub camp clothing, remember we’re on Murray Subcamp.

As mentioned above, over the coming weeks we will be sending a number of emails with bits of information on, so hopefully any questions will be answered. However if you need to get in touch in the meantime you can do so at eij@bescouts.org.uk

We look forward to seeing you soon!
