What roles are available?
We are looking for a contingent leader plus a number of team members.
Kander 26 Contingent Leader
This role is to lead the team and participants on our adventure to Switzerland. You’ll help with the continued planning and delivery for the event as well being responsible for all in attendance. This role will suit a section leader or team member with experience in managing young people and adult volunteers.
Kander 26 Team Member
The team members will support the contingent leader in the delivery of the event.
Who can apply to volunteer
We are looking for volunteers who are 18 or over at the start of the event. Our event team will be responsible for participants throughout the event.
If you are aged 18-25 you can also consider attending as a Network participant rather than event team.
Is there a cost to attend as Event Team?
Yes.
We know that you are giving up your time to volunteer on this adventure, however with such a high cost event and also an experience like no other it is only fair of us to request payment from the event team too. We are able to offer a reduced rate of £800 per person and as with participants, you can look to offset this with fundraising.
Event Team Payments would be as follows. £100 deposit due at the time of being accepted onto the team. With £350 due by July 2025 and £350 due by April 2026.
What training is required?
Event team members would hold a Kander26 Team Member Role and be required to hold the required training for that role such as Safety, Safeguarding & First Aid. At least 2 members of the team will also need to complete our Mental Health First Aid Training and another 2 will require a nights away permit.
Full support will be given in this training. A valid disclosure must be in place leading up to and for the duration of the event.
What happens after I register my interest?
We are expecting a high volume of interest for this event and as such will go through a shortlisting process once applications close. We will reach out to those shortlisted to advise if we are able to offer you a place.
